The Board of Directors of Echuca Moama Beacon Foundation is pleased to introduce Ms Rachel Collins.




Rachel was raised in Tennyson (near Lockington) in northern Victoria. She attended Primary School in Lockington and completed her Secondary years at St Joseph’s Catholic College in Echuca. In 2003 as a Year Ten St. Joseph’s student she experienced first hand what the Echuca Moama Beacon Foundation had to offer – especially her participation in the Mock Interview program and the Career Expo. Events organised by Echuca Moama beacon Foundation opened her eyes to what life after school would be like, but also the different avenues that were available in order for her to engage in future employment options.

In 2005 she graduated from St Joseph’s and in 2006 began her Business Law Degree at Latrobe University with a double major in Law and Human Resource Management. She graduated in October 2009 and since then has been engaged in the Business Managment of her family’s business as well as working at O'Farrell, Robertson & McMahon – a Law Firm in Bendigo for 18 months and for 6 months with Goulburn Murray Water in the Human Resource Department.

Rachel is passionate about the opportunities offered by Echuca Moama Beacon Foundation program and looks forward to giving back to the community and people that have helped her along the way.

‘I am excited about being part of the Echuca Moama Beacon Foundation and networking in the Echuca Moama area, and if I can share some knowledge about life after school then that also will be a goal achieved for me’, she said.

The Executive Officer is key to the successful delivery of the program in the local schools. The role of the Executive Officer is to:

  • Liaise with, mentor and advise Beacon Foundation School Coordinators and Student Leaders in the performance of their roles.
  • Organize and facilitate Real Futures special events – Pledge Day, Futures Workshop, Employer Interviews, Polish Program, Big Day In etc. Work with School Coordinators in the development of Real Futures programs in schools.
  • Develop and maintain networks with local councils, community groups, service clubs and businesses for the enhancement of the program, and promote Beacon activities.
  • Facilitate regular program and project evaluation and assist the Board in developing and monitoring the annual strategic plan.
  • Provide advice and liaise with the Beacon Foundation national and state personnel.
  • Efficiently and effectively carry out a range of Echuca Moama Beacon Foundation Inc. Board of Management responsibilities.
  • Independently manage the office administration and financial tasks to effectively carry out the role.
