Beacon Annual General Meeting 2025

The Echuca Moama Beacon Foundation held its Annual General Meeting on Tuesday 25 November 2025 at the Moama RSL.

The evening was led by our Student Leaders, with MC duties shared by Olivia Frazer from Moama Anglican Grammar and Ella Reyne from St Joseph’s College, who guided the proceedings with confidence and warmth.

Chair Sue Turner, Treasurer Mark Thomson and Project Manager Cath Elms presented their reports for the year, highlighting the continued growth of the Beacon Real Futures Program, strengthened industry partnerships and the engagement of more than 600 students across our five Beacon schools.

A number of Student Leaders shared their reflections on the program: Gonzalo Duffy Oporto (Moama Anglican Grammar) and Harley Stevenson (Echuca College) spoke about their experiences as Beacon Leaders and the personal growth and leadership skills they developed throughout the year. Miguel Carlos (Echuca College) shared insights into the Work Ready sessions and RIJI interviews, highlighting the value of real-world preparation and authentic interview practice. Ameya Rajeevan (Australian Christian College) reflected on her involvement in the Pathways Pledge Ceremony and the impact of representing her school and peers. In the absence of Azahlia Palmers (St Joseph’s College), her reflections on the Careers Expo were read by MC Ella Reyne, offering a thoughtful overview of the opportunities the event created for students.

It was Project Manager Cath Elms’ great pleasure to publicly debut the new Beacon promotional video, a project created with Student Leaders in Term 4. The video showcases the full arc of the Real Futures Program and the voices of young people who bring the Beacon mission to life.
