Young PeopleReal FuturesOur Responsibility

Our Pathways Pledge Ceremony at the Echuca Twin Rivers Specialist School on August 13, with almost 500 people attending.

Students from all five Beacon schools, along with sponsors, supporters and members of the community joined together to celebrate the Real Futures program.
Our keynote speaker was former Beacon leader and Moama Anglican Grammar student Noah Downie. Noah shared his personal journey and the valuable lessons he learned while planning for the future. His insights offered the students inspiration and practical advice for their own career planning.
The ceremony also featured a discussion panel directed by Beacon leaders Norah Lenne from Echuca College and Boyd Buthcher from Moama Anglican Grammar. The panel included Jayden Howe from Headspace echuca, Bree Forge owner/operator Border Painting Co. and Jack Trewick, a passionate farmer and former Rochester Secondary College student. The panelist bought a diverse range of experiences and expertise, providing students with a wealth of knowledge and valuable perspectives to consider as they plan their futures.

The Pathways Pledge is a public commitment, where students acknowledge that they are ready to make the most of their futures, and that they will have open minds when considering their career pathways.

Community members are invited to pledge their support in assisting our young people in their journey.

Signing the Pledge Board is the evidence of commitment to the pledge, and the boards will be displayed in each school, on show for all to see.
